This movie starts off slow but the tension builds as the Driver's world crashes around him, with a shocking amount of violence given the tenor of this film. Albert Brooks, Bryan Cranston and Ron Pearlman all give memorable performances in this exciting thrill ride that demands a second or third viewing.

Weezer ft Weezy-Can't Stop Partying
Lil Wanyne teams up with Weezer to create a fusion of hipster alt rock with Southern rap, though it's the side of Lil Wayne that just wants to have fun. Still he infuses the song with street cred, at least as much as a Weezer song can muster.

Song Review-Eminem-Soldier, Love you More

Great beat, good lead in with The Kiss, which features Lights, Camera Action off the mixtape So You Wanna Freestyle. Soldier stands on its own as Eminem when he was still hungry, after hitting the height of fame and being bewildered by it on Marshall Mathers LP, he seems to embrace his position on The Eminem Show, but he goes hard on almost every track, as Soldier demonstrates. The beat is dancable, but the lyrics are typical of the dark, violent Slim Shady, with a dose of his disdain for Kim Scott, his on again off again girlfriend. This is described beautifully on Love You More, the haunting song that tells of his twisted love for Kim, but their mutual hate as well. It is a bonus track on Encore as well as on a mixtape.

Boondox-Love of my Knife
Boondox rules, I might just be a Juggalo at heart. Eminem disses Psychopath Records but his new stuff sounds like it. ICP made a good find with this southern Rapper from Covington, Georgia, whose uncle tried to kill him when he was 3 and he was unpopular in school, but found an outlet in horrorcore rap as inspired by Insane Clown Posse. David Hutto, Boondox real name, should be on the forefront of any rap enthusiasts list, as a prime example of good horrorcore that can make you uncomfortable, turn your stomach. Eminem said with Relapse he wanted to "make you puke" but Boondox may come even closer that Em with this track off his latest album, South of Hell

Egypt's New Place In The World

Egypt, when run by a dictator who was our friend (Mubarak), was America's ally. But when the citizens rose up in revolt, they overthrew the oppressive regime to implement democracy. Some worry that this democracy will invite a group like the Muslim Brotherhood to rise to power, but they are only a small portion of the populace and have but a minor influence on politics, being more of a humanitarian organization. Bush's administration believed that a free Iraq would inspire others in that region of the world to adopt Democracy. We are seeing that happening, but seeing that the change is quicker and more popular when developed from grassroots protests and homegrown activism springing from unrest with poor living conditions. Egypt moved toward Democracy after the Obama administration cut aid to democracy organizations within Egypt. So it seems the best approach to getting a dictator overthrown is to have the desire spring from within the populace. This might even happen with America's allies, which America should embrace and seek to help the new government gain legitimacy. Terrorists thrive when the Arab and Muslim world see their dictatorial governments propped up by the United States. So working toward a freer, more democratic world is best accomplished with a hands-off approach, one that can be encouraged by limiting our support of dictatorial regimes, and showing more favoritism to a Democracy like Egypt, Iraq and potentially Libya, provided Gadaphi steps down. We need to find sensible places to cut the budget, and 3 billion dollars to a despot seems like a place to start.

Obama's budget

During the campaign I was excited about Obama's plans for fiscal responsibility and an advancement of his agenda. But right off the bat we saw him push for a huge stimulus, a bailout for the banks and asking taxpayers to help pay the mortgages of people who overextended themselves. Thankfully with his budget, it looks like he is serious about fiscal responsibility after all, with his plan to cut the deficit and let the Bush tax cuts expire. Also, it is heartening to hear a plan to make the budget more transparent, and honestly take the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan into account. Many of us Americans could use a good example of fiscal responsibility from the government, instead of taking out more credit card and mortgage debt than we can afford. Hopefully Obama makes good on his promises to cut the deficit while moving forward with his plans to expand healthcare coverage and help average Americans. He certainly has done enough for the wealthiest Americans by supporting TARP and bailing out banks and automobile executives. It's time for him to show the people that voted for him that they come first. I'm still waiting.

Thank God the bailout failed

The bailout plan would do nothing for the backbone of the Obama campaign, minorities and young people. It rewards those who were fiscally irresponsible, taking out mortgages to buy homes they couldn’t afford. It rewards banks that thought “mortgage backed securities” were good ideas. It punishes people who save 10% of their income, stay out of credit card debt, and put money away for retirement. They could use $2300, and they would do great things for the economy. Either they would pay off any credit cards the do have, or they would spend it and help the economy. Thanks to strong grassroots efforts, average Americans convinced their congress to vote no on the bailout, over President Bush, BOTH candidates, House leadership, Secy. Paulson and Chairman Bernake. This crisis is because no one let the dot-com bubble finally burst. Instead, that was propped up by low interest rates that caused the housing bubble. The market needs real correction. Unfortunately, without responsible fiscal policy, there will be crazed market bubbles, and when they burst, they can be painful. Democrats and Republicans were right to reject this bill. Barack Obama should listen to the voters, and help them instead of those “special interests” on Wall Street that he so often demonizes on the campaign trail. When the Dow gets really low, remember, Buy Low, Sell High. Not, Buy High, Get A Bailout When The Price Drops
